Use a flexible measuring tape
For accurate results, we recommend using a flexible measuring tape. If you don’t have one, a piece of string or ribbon can be used and then measured with a ruler.

Measure the length
While your dog is standing straight and relaxed, measure from the base of the neck—where the collar naturally sits—to the base of the tail. This measurement provides a key reference for how products will sit on your dog’s body.

Measure the chest girth
Locate the widest part of your dog’s chest, usually just behind the front legs. Wrap the measuring tape around this area. Chest girth is the most important measurement for selecting coats, jackets, and outerwear.
